Excitement. Achievement. Involvement. Opportunity. The Valhalla stadium and Richards field house project targeted all four for Berry students and the greater Berry community – and all have been on full display in the year since the stadium opened.
The new stadium for lacrosse, football, and track and field is part of a dual endeavor that also includes the completed renovation of Roy Richards Memorial Gymnasium as a field house.
The stadium and field house support the addition of intercollegiate lacrosse at Berry, a program that has exceeded every expectation in only its relatively new existence with two SAA Championships already. The new sport triggered the beat of the energizing Viking Drumline and football team and is helping to balance the male/female ratio of Berry’s student population.
The renovated Richards Gymnasium features a training/weight room for all students, new dance-lab floor, refinished gym floor, and locker rooms and office space for lacrosse, football, and tennis.
All totaled, the Valhalla/Richards project offers something for just about everyone associated with Berry.
